ARTO Rajouri asks vehicle owners to affix HSRPs before May 15 or face action.

Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Rajouri in a notice issued on Thursday has asked the entire motor vehicle owners to ensure affixation of ‘high-security registration plates ’ (HSRP) by or before May 15, 2022.
“Any default in this regard shall be treated as a willful violation by the concerned motor vehicle owner and may lead to the seizure and blacklisting of the defaulting vehicle” the notice reads.
In compliance with the directions of the Apex Court, the J&K Motor Vehicles Department (JKMVD) vide a circular No.TC/JK/P&S/597-99 dt 1/2/2016 had mandatory use of HSRP in all motor vehicles and the owners of motor vehicles have to affix the same in their respective vehicles by or before September 16, 2017.
According to ARTO, Rajouri it has been observed that some motor vehicles are still plying on the roads without affixing mandatory HSRPs and are, therefore, violating the orders of Apex Court and JKMVD.
Through the notice, ARTO has asked the owners of the vehicles (not using HSRPs) to ensure affixation of HSRPs in their motor vehicles from an authorised vendor stationed at New Bus Stand at Rajouri by or before May 15, 2022.
