RAJOURI JULY 02:–Ahead of commencement of annual Shri Buddha Amarnath ji Yatra-2024 situated in Mandi Town of Poonch district, Security Forces in a joint operation have recovered, reportedly rusted, two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) weighing approximately 15 kg & 8 kg each from a border village in Mendahr tehsil.
Recently, the Army has rounded up two suspects residents of Mendhar from Pir Panjal area reportedly for felicitating the terrorists.
A search operation was launched by the Army & J&K Police in Sangar-Kasbaladi area of Mankot sector situated along the Line of Control (LoC).
During the search, a joint team of Army & Police recovered two IEDs in the evening on Tuesday which were later detonated by the Army’s bomb disposal squad using controlled explosions.
On June 28, Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary visited the Shri Buddha Amarnath Ji Shrine at Mandi and discussed arrangements with the temple management Committee headed by Swami Vishwatmanand Saraswati and Government functionaries.
