RAJOURI JULY 04:-An Indian Army unit operating in the Gambhir-Tarkundi sector of Rajouri district handed overall a Pakistan-Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK) resident to the Manjakote police after he was apprehended along the Line of Control (LoC) on Sunday (June 30).
The arrested individual has been identified as Mohd Arib, son of Mohd Yousuf, a resident of Datote village in PoJK.
Arib was apprehended by the BSF in the general area of Tarkundi while allegedly crossing illegally into Indian territory from the Hazura post on the Pakistani side.
While the PRO Defence Jammu issued a statement denying any infiltration attempt in the area, sources claim that Arib is suspected to be working as a guide for terror outfits and facilitating infiltration into India.
On Monday (July 1), the Army officially handed over Mohd Arib to the Manjakote police station after a medical examination.
He has been booked under Section 113 BNE (Terrorist Act) and Sections 2/3 of the Egress & Internal Movement (Control) Ordinance (E&IMCO) in case FIR No. 55/2025 registered at Manjakote police station.
Security forces recovered ₹20,000 in Pakistani currency and a mobile phone from Arib at the time of his apprehension. Further interrogation is expected to shed light on his contacts with terrorist groups, the Pakistan Army, and individuals on both sides of the LoC.
