SRINAGAR JANUARY 09:–Srinagar, Jan 09: Well, it seems there have been some interesting political developments in Jammu and Kashmir. According to the report, members from Apni Party in the areas of Cheki Watoo and Nandimarg have decided to join the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference.

They officially aligned with the National Conference today, on January 9th. And it happened with Cabinet Minister and JKNC State Secretary Sakina Itoo-NC Noorabad there. She’s the representative for the National Conference in Noorabad.

So it sounds like some dedicated folks from Apni Party have left that group and are now supporting the National Conference instead. And it went down at a meeting with Sakina Itoo. She welcomed the new members into the National Conference party.

Bringing in members from other areas seems to show that the National Conference is growing its influence and becoming more inclusive. With people from Apni Party in Cheki Watoo and Nandimarg now onboard, the National Conference leadership must feel good about expanding its reach. Especially with Sakina Itoo there to greet the newcomers – it shows the National Conference rolls out the red carpet for new allies.
Overall it was a big political move when those Apni Party members formally aligned with the National Conference. And holding the meeting on January 9th made it all official with Sakina Itoo on hand. Her welcoming the new members probably helped the National Conference’s image of being open and inviting too. So plenty of significance to this development in Jammu and Kashmir politics.
