UDHAMPUR MAY 21:–In its continued efforts to eradicate the menace of bovine smuggling from the society. Udhampur Police under the overall supervision of SSP Udhampur Dr. Vinod Kumar IPS rescued 117 bovines and 7 accused arrested in the Jurisdiction of Police Post Tikri.
Police team led by IC Police Post Tikri PSI Abdul Satar under the supervision of DySP Hqrs. Udhampur Sahil Mahajan during routine naka/checking duty in its jurisdictional area noticed few persons enrouted from Tikri towards Kashmir Valley side in connection with smuggling of bovines.
On thorough checking 117 bovines were found which were being taken by foot without any legal permission.Thereafter, all the 117 bovines were rescued and 07 bovine smugglers namely
Hassan Mir S/O Mohd. Mirza R/O R.S Pura Mushtaq Ahmed S/O Mohd. Iqbal R/O Jammu Manzoor Ahmed S/O Raji Mohd R/O Bishna, Jammmu Sadiq Hussain S/O Mohd. Gali R/O R.S PuraFarid Hussain S/O Qasim Din R/O R.S Pura Farooq Ali S/O Qasim Din R/O Samba and Abdul Rashid S/O Mohd. Yousuf R/O Ramban were arrested on spot.
In this regards, Case FIR Nos 112/2022, 113/2022, 114/2022, 115/2022, 116/2022, 117/2022, 118/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered in PS Rehambal and further investigation is going on.
