RAJOURI, APRIL 19:
–Before the District Rajouri police could bring to book the culprits of two successive explosions in Kotranka bazaar which had occurred on March 26, the anti-national elements (ANEs) once again struck in the town, and in today’s mysterious explosion a couple was injured and their child had a miraculous escape.
The suspicious explosion (which could be a grenade throw as the agencies are on job to identify the explosive) occurred at about 8.45 pm outside a slum in the vicinity of a bridge situated in the town in the Jaglanno area.
This time the anti-national elements chose a soft target– non-residents of J&K and belonging to minority community– like ongoing target killings/injuries in Kashmir valley and this could be an alarming signal for the Security Forces of this area.
Those injured in today’s suspicious explosion include Vinod Kumar s/o Raj Kumar r/o Uttar Pardesh and working as labourers in the area.
“Both have received splinter-like injuries and have been referred to Associated Hospital & Government Medical College (AH&GMC at Rajouri for further treatment, “said Dr.Iqbal Malik, BMO.
The explosion has created a panic in the area and people are not feeling safe and have also raised finger at the police investigation because it has also failed to solve the March 26 twin explosions that were also triggered in the Kotranka town.
On March 26 low-intensity explosions was followed by a high-intensity explosion that had created panic in the entire area.
The eyewitnesses had identified a person who had covered his face with shawl and was wearing a salwar-kameez and after planting the explosive devices had disappeared from the town.
After today’s mysterious explosion, Mohd Aslam, SSP Rajouri in a press note said: “On Tuesday, a mysterious explosion took place outside a slum in Kotranka area. A husband-wife duo sustained injuries. Both hospitalised and are out of danger”.
“Area under searches, investigation set into motion, and cause of the explosion being ascertained” he added.
