RAJOURI JUNE 11:– In a remarkable revival of spiritual heritage, the ancient temples of Thannamandi, once reduced to ruins during the peak of terrorism, are once again witnessing a resurgence of religious activity. The Devi Dhakka temple complex came alive on the occasion of Bada Mangal (Big Tuesday), with the collective chanting of Hanuman Chalisa echoing through the hills.
Organized by the Thakur Dwara Temple and Displaced Hindu Trust Thannamandi, with support from Vishva Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal, the event witnessed large participation from devotees across Rajouri and neighboring areas.
Distinguished saints including Mahamandaleshwar 1008 Swami Devendra Anand Ji Maharaj, Swami Vivekanand Ji Maharaj, Swami Mangal Murti Ji Maharaj, Swami Adityapuri Ji Maharaj, and Swami Keshavpuri Ji Maharaj visited the region and inspected the condition of various ancient temples, many of which are now in a state of disrepair. These revered saints assured members of the temple trust of their commitment to appeal to the central government and religious institutions for restoration efforts.
Adding to the fervor of the day, VHP District Gen Sect Gaurav Majhan was honored with a traditional chunni for his ongoing support and dedication to the cause of temple restoration and Hindu unity in the region.
Speaking to the media, Trust President Sanjay Sharma, along with Sangeet Gandotra, Ashish Gandotra, and Rakesh Nanda, emphasized their commitment to reviving these sacred sites and reinstating daily worship practices.
What was once a symbol of devastation is now transforming into a beacon of hope and devotion, as the spiritual soul of Thannamandi begins to awaken once more.
