GNS ONLINE NEWS PORTAL
The Pirpunjal region, comprising the twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch, stands as one of the most naturally blessed areas of Jammu and Kashmir, with its towering hills, pristine lakes, verdant meadows, thick forests, and unexplored valleys. Despite this unmatched beauty and immense tourism potential, the region continues to suffer from administrative neglect and what can only be described as step-motherly treatment. Successive governments have failed to prioritize tourism infrastructure here, and our own political representatives often appear helpless or silent before the corridors of power.
Through this heartfelt message, I humbly appeal to the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri #NarendraModi Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri #AmitShah and the Hon’ble Minister of Tourism Shri G_Kishan_Reddy to turn their attention toward this long-ignored jewel of the nation. I also call upon the top leadership of JK UT BJP Ravinder Raina, Vibodh Gupta, Mohd Iqbal Malik, and Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali to rise to the occasion and advocate forcefully for the development of tourism infrastructure in the Pir Panjal region.
The promotion of tourism is not merely about showcasing natural beauty, it is about transforming lives. It has the potential to uplift our rural economy, eradicate poverty, and provide sustainable employment to thousands of unemployed, both educated and uneducated youth of the region. Roads, accommodations, trekking routes, heritage promotion, and eco-tourism facilities must be planned and executed on a war footing.
Let Pirpunjal no longer be an afterthought. Let it become a proud symbol of India’s commitment to equitable development, regional inclusion, and rural empowerment. We place our trust in your vision for a “New India” and sincerely hope Pirpunjal finds its rightful place on the national tourism map.
