AJKYF DEMANDS STRICT LAWS FOR PROTECTION OF WOMENS TOUGH CALLS SHOULD BE MADE AGAINST CULPRITS: SANJAY SANDHU

Jammu, October 06:: ÷Taking into consideration the increase of crime rate against the women in India as well in the UT of J&K, All J&K Youth Federation (AJKYF) Incharge Jammu Province, Ch. Sanjay Singh Sandhu expressed serious concern over the safety measures taken by the central and UT administration for protection of women.

Ch. Sanjay Singh Sandhu said that in the past few years, crime against the women and female children have increased fourfold in the entire nation and it is the time when the government should take accountability of deteriorating law and order which has failed to protect women and young girls and has not been able to provide adequate security to them.

He further said that as per the recent government data, India recorded an average of 87 rape cases per day in the year 2019 and overall 4,05,861 cases of crime against women were recorded, a rise of over 7% from 2018 and the data of the year 2020 is still awaited which is expected to be much higher as per the current scenario.

Provincial Incharge urged upon the President of India to approve capital punishment of death penalty to the culprits of heinous crimes and to form special force for handling women crime cases in the country headed by the sitting Judicial Officer of High Courts which will make evil-minded persons to withdrew their intentions for provoking crime against women and female children.
