Rajouri June 10:-‘Chairman of Rajouri District Development Council (DDC),Adv Naseem Liaqat, associated with National Conference (NC), has demanded transfer of Deputy Commissioner for non-cooperation and his alleged one point program to target the NC.
“Being a supporter of BJP, Deputy Commissioner is not supporting people’s friendly development works being proposed by me as chairman of DDC” said Naseem Liaqat.
Citing an example, Naseem said recently after hectic efforts and personnel approach to the American India Foundation (AIF), a 50 bedded portable hospital (three were sanctioned for J&K) was sanctioned by AIF for Rajouri district.
Pertinent to mention here that during the second phase of pandemic, AIF is conducting site surveys across India, to scope out locations for several 50 to 100 portable bed clusters that will be deployed and constructed soon.
“After discussions with other members of the DDC, Peeri location was decided for the establishment of the said hospital and the proposal was sent to Deputy Commissioner for consideration and availability of the government land” said Naseem Liaqat.
But DC rejected our proposal just with an intention to oppose DDC Chairman (NC) and said it will be established at another location, he said, and added I fear that the AIF will shift this hospital from Rajouri.
Naseem Liaqat further said only yesterday our (NC’s) Youth National Conference, Provincial Secretary Waqar Lone was detained and arrested on the directions from DC who is facing a matrimonial dispute (to give custody of minor girl to his divorced wife) .
“In the meantime, we will try to meet the LG and Chief Secretary over this issue. If our demands were not met we will launch a peaceful protest demonstration against the district administration” said Naseem Liaqat.
Waqar Lone was arrested on the basis of alleged illegal order passed by the Naib Tehsildar after DC arbitrarily exercised his powers and directed the Naib Tehsildar Rajouri to issue warrant of arrest when the matter between Waqar and his divorced wife is subjudice before the court.
Reacting to a video of Naseem Liaqat’s uploaded on WhatsApp group, Rajesh Kumar Shavan, DC wrote: “His demand should be fulfilled to enable him to get a person of his choice for getting his own works only and not of others”.
Meanwhile, Samreen Khan, BJP Sarpanch of Manjakot Panchyat has condemned the statement of Nassem Liaqat, DDC Chairman says that DC is supporting a particular political party.
Sanam Shah ,Youth Congress leader has also supported the issues raised by Naseem liaqat.
“Rajesh Kumar Shavan, DC is an honest and dedicated officer. He always helps needy people. There are fewer officers like him who listen and take on the spot action in solving the problems being faced by the people,” she said
