Rajouri June 08 :-Tough measures being taken by the district administration to prevent further spread of coronavirus in the district and inhabitant’s encouraging response has yielded positive results as the overall recovery rate of the Covid patients has reached 90.93%.
As for as Vaccination drive is concerned the health workers delivering yeoman services by visiting the beneficiaries to get them vaccinated at their doorsteps after crossing rivers, traversing through tough mountains.
The district has achieved 89.24 % vaccination for ‘health care workers’ (1st & 2nd dose), 93.53 % for ‘front line workers’ (1st & 2nd dose) and 71.10 % (1st & 2nd) for 45 above age group.
There are726 active Covid cases out of 10177 to date while 9254 have recovered.
40 persons were tested positive today across the district out of 2586 tests conducted.
With three more deaths, who were on ventilator support, in the Government Medical College & Associated Hospital (GMC&AH) the Covid death tally has reached 198 including 142 during the second wave.
During second-wave 1,71,753 tests have been conducted out of that 6304 were tested active and at present, 89 patients are under treatment in GMC&AH (71) and in other triage/hospitals (Army & BSF).

Rajesh Kumar Shavan, Deputy Commissioner (DC) today chaired a meeting of district officers and discussed measures for the mitigation of the pandemic.
“It is the need of the hour to make extra efforts to mitigate the Coronavirus in the district to save the precious lives,” said DC.
He also demanded daily reports for Panchyat wise vaccination of the targeted groups and asked to cover vulnerable and high risks groups and Nomads on a priority basis.
“Designate one school in each panchyat as Covid Control Room and all the members of ‘village level committees’ should be present there to help the positive cases besides their already designated duties” said DC.
