Rajouri May 25:–District Administration headed by Rajesh Kumar Shavan, Deputy Commissioner (DC) taking every measure to contain the Covid-10 pandemic from further transmission and efforts are being made to vaccinate the maximum population of the district.
For the last few days, the Deputy Commissioner has been visiting the headquarter of health blocks to personally take the stock of the Medicare facilities and Covid-19 mitigation measures.
The DC said that the vaccination for the persons between the age group of 18 to 44 years has started in the district from today and urged upon the public failing in the said age group to come forward and get them vaccinated.
“Although the District Administration is making all possible efforts to contain the spread of the Covid-19 in the district people’s active cooperation is a must in this regard” said DC.
But especially in rural areas, it has been observed that the people not taking the pandemic seriously and violating the Covid Curfew restrictions/ SOPs with impunity.
This can be gauged from the daily figures of positive cases which include more than 90% cases from the rural areas.
Even today out of 99 positive cases tested in district 16 are from urban areas and 83 from rural areas.
The main reason behind the surge in the active cases in rural areas include that the people hiding the symptoms, getting themselves treated at homes, deliberately avoiding isolation in the hospitals etc.
In many cases, it has been observed that after testing positive by conducting RAT tests at local medical shops the patients without intimation to health authorities get themselves isolated at home and becoming a source of further spreading of the virus in the area.
Another major reason behind ‘community spreading’ of the deadly virus reportedly is that the family members/ relatives are opening the packing of the bodies of Covid patients for performing rituals before burial/cremation.
