Rajouri May 24:–After some reports of absenteeism of doctors from their legitimate duties and practicing in private clinics during duty hours, a special team was constituted by the Deputy Commissioner to check the private clinics.
As per reports the team today paid a surprise visit to 5-6 clinics and found some doctors practicing during working hours.
The team members found a violation of Covid-19 SOPs by the doctors in two clinics where they were indulged in private practicing and more than 25 patients were found in each clinic with no regard to Covid-19 SOPs including social distancing.
Rajesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner said that on the first day of the checking administration will adopt a lenient approach in taking strict action.
“However, the inquiry will be initiated against those found private practicing during official hours. They will be charge-sheeted and would be asked to explain their position” said DC.
He added about six clinics were checked and in two clinics, doctors were found practicing and by violating Covid-19 restrictions.
The action will continue in the future in all parts of the district and strict action would be taken against the violators, DC further said.
Meanwhile, he has expressed satisfaction over the decreasing trend in Active cases and gave credit to the team of doctors at GMC &AH and the restrictions imposed during Covid Curfew.
He also applauded the cooperation of the people in containing the pandemic.
On Monday, 66 persons were tested positive in the district, while 253 patients were recovered and discharged.
Three patients succumbed to Coronavirus during last 24 hours while the number of active cases came down to 2991 against 3181 on Sunday.
The reports for 2426 samples were still awaited and most of the cases have been detected in rural areas.
