Health workers in Rajouri district deserve appreciation.

Rajouri May 19 :– Dedication of Health Workers towards their legitimate duties is evident from the fact that Covid-19 recovery rate in Rajouri district is 98.3% despite a continuous increase in the positive cases.
Today the district has recorded 142 positive cases, while three patients have died due to pandemic.Out of 8465 active cases in the district 4890 have recovered, including 128 today while the death tally has reached 146. The reports for 8465 samples were still awaited.
In a big relief to the patients from Rajouri & Poonch districts, who prefer treatment in hospitals at Srinagar, the Government of UT of J&K has allowed their movements on the Mughal Road.
In a story carried by the Daily Jammu Jottings on May 17 Manzoor Naik, spokesman BJP youth Wing and Ch. Zulfikar Ali, former Minister & the Vice President Apni party had appealed to Lt Governor to allow such patients to use Mughal Road to go to hospitals at Srinagar.
Recently, the Government has decided to open the Mughal Road only for the movement of trucks carrying fresh fruits and for the Nomads to move to higher pastures.
“Keeping in view Covid pandemic & the need for patients to get the best possible treatment, Mughal Road be also opened from tomorrow for those referred for medical treatment to Srinagar from Poonch & Rajouri districts. The DCs & Divisional Commissioners will put a system in place to enable this to happen” reads a Tweet from the office of LG J&K.
Reacting to the Government’s decision, Ch. Zulfikar Ali had said: “We welcome the decision of the Government and appreciate it. However, the decision seems to have been taken half-heartedly without considering the difficulties of the people faced in Pir Panjal because of the closing of the highway and opening it with certain conditions”.
Most of the patients from Rajouri-Poonch districts prefer treatment in hospitals at Srinagar & they are not considered in the decision, he added.
