Rajouri May 18:–Son of the soil, Dr.Hashash Singh Ishar (Neurologist), MBBS (Gold Medalist), MD (Internal Medicine, SKIMS, Soura), DM Neurology (SAIMS, Indore) is a Neurologist born in Rajouri and now based in Jammu.He is the youngest doctor in the history of J&K to earn prestigious degree of DM (Doctorate of Medicine) in Neurology.He had an excellent academic record in MBBS (2006-2011), he secured multiple distinctions including a Gold medal in ENT and topped in 2nd prof MBBS in Jammu University.He secured MD, Internal Medicine (Open Merit) in 2013 and topped in MD medicine examination held in 2016 in premier institute SKIMS ,Soura.In 2017, he cleared NEET superspeciality examination and joined SAMC & PGI (SAIMS) in Indore and completed his DM in august 2020.
In May 2021, he was selected for Mini-Fellowship programme conducted by Nebraska University, USA.Out of 110 applicants, the university selected 12 applicants all across the world.And out of 12, he is becoming the only Indian to be selected for the course.He has a keen interest in teaching Neurology and clinical skills to UG&PG students.He is trained extensively in Neurology under tutelage of stalwart neurologists.His subspeciality of interest is “Movement disorders” and is having a very keen interest in diagnosing and managing dystonias.Presently, he is working as Asst Professor of Neurology in ASCOMS , Jammu and as a visiting Neurologist in JK Medicity and Pulse hospital Jammu. He is having a dedicated Neurology Clinic in Kachi Chawni.
Talking exclusively to The News Now, Dr.Isher said that the last decade has seen remarkable advances in the diagnostic and therapeutic abilities of the neurologists.Neurogenetics has also begun to take roots in India and slowly, genetic disorders are being diagnosed locally.
