Apni Party seeks compensation for farmers in Garkhal village

Jammu, May 10: Apni Party President Jammu Rural, Dev Kumar Uppal today demanded compensation for the farmers whose standing crops gutted in a devastating fire.

In a statement, Uppal said that the fire incident took place at Garkhal village of Akhnoor Tehsil in which over 300 kanals of standing wheat crops were destroyed in the fire which broke out accidentally.

He said that the farmers have no other source of income and therefore, the Govt must give them ex-gratia so that they can feed their families.

He said that the farmers have also lost their fodder and the administration concerned should send a team of officials to make assessment of the losses suffered by the poor farmers.

He demanded that immediate relief should be provided to the farmers.
