Rajouri, April 15: No Right to Information Act 2009 has been enacted in the Rural Development Department, Rajouri. Violation of RTI Act issued on daily basis in Block Development Office, Rajouri
President Pirpanjal Contractors Association Rajouri.

Shafqat Wani, President PPCA Rajouri, said in a press statement here today that an application under RTI Act 2009 submitted by applicant in the office of Assistant Commissioner Rural Development Department on February 10 through email email for seeking some information about some works carried by said department . The same RTI application will be filed and was submitted to the said office by hand on 18th February and the said application was sent by ACD Rajouri to BDO Rajouri in letter no. ACDR / RTI / 2021–3409-10 dated. Sent on 02/03/2021 but Block Development Officer / Office Rajouri has so far failed to respond to the RTI application.

When the contacted ACD Rajouri by telephone about the response to that RTI, he said that he did not have time to respond to such RTI reply which means that he did. He refused to answer and started teaching RTI rules.

In the RTI application, the applicant should seek some information about the construction of the walking track from Salani Bridge to Tariq Bridge which was started by the Rural Development Department in 2017 and this work is still pending where the said department has issued 3000 cement. Bags for the execution of the said work and 8.50 lakh has been released in favor of the contractor without any measurement. Not a single penny has been spent on the land for the construction of the said work.

It is pertinent to mention here that the contractor of the said work has a great deal of influence in politics and he is very close to the former MLC and the state general secretary of the ruling party so due to this influence the contractor has done massive fraud with the co-operation of the said department and it has released thousands of cement bags and the squandered millions of rupees in the name of so-called work. Therefore, the department did not respond to the said work. He embezzled huge money from the exchequer and this is also in the notice of Assistant Commissioner Development Rajouri but he did nothing against such mismanagement and misapproation of public money. God knows why ACD Rajouri looks helpless in this matter.

Meanwhile Shafqat Wani President Pirpunchal Contractors Association Rajouri appeal to LG Governor J&K to look into the matter and also initiate an inquiry in the whole matter where lacs of rupees misappropriated by the government agencies in the name of so called development and also directed to DDC Rajouri to constitue an impartial officers team to conduct an inquiry regarding the matter.
