Srinagar March 26:–Deputy commissioner Srinagar who is also the President Zila Sainik Welfare Board for Srinagar Mr Mohammad Aijaz Asad today chaired meeting of District Sainik Board in the meeting hall of Deputy Commmsioners Office Srinagar. The meeting was attended by the members of the Zilla Sainik Board.
At the outset member secretary of the Board Mr Rashid Ahmed War made a power point presentation to brief the President and other members of the Board about various welfare activities carried out by the Board for the eligible beneficiaries.
During the meeting a view was taken regarding outstanding issues related to welfare of Ex Servicemen, Widows and orphan children.
Several members put across their ideas for improvement in the welfare oriented measures by the Board.
At the end of the meeting, president asked the line departments to convene a workshop for young
ex servicemen in collaboration with Industries & Commerce Department, JKEDI, Employment department and Banks so that Ex Servicemen could become potential entrepreneurs and job creators for the unemployed youth.
