BGSBU organises Urdu Mushaira

Rajouri March 25:–Department of Urdu , Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri in collaboration with office of the Dean of students organised a Urdu Mushaira. Prof. Akbar Masood, Vice Chancellor Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri was chief guest on the occasion. In his address, Prof. Akbar lauded the efforts of the Urdu department for organizing the Mushaira. On the ocassion, Prof. Akbar congratulated the poets who presented in the Mushaira for their marvelous performance. Prof. Akbar said that Urdu is a language of peace, love, brother hood and complemented Coordinator , Department of Urdu Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed wani and his team for there efforts to promote Urdu language and literature in the Jammu and Kashmir. Prof. Akbar described Mushaira is an important constituent of Indian culture. On the occasion, Prof. Akbar released a book , ” Tarseel o Tafheem” written by Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed wani. Dr. Shams kamal Anjum, Dr. Rafiq Anjum, Dr.liyaqat Nayyer, Dr. Rozwana Shamsi, Dr. Ashraf Malik, Gulshan Rashid, Asia Firdous, Zahid Nasir and Tarnum sadeeq presented their poetry which were highly appreciated by the audience. Those who spoke on the occasion Included Dean Academic Affairs Prof. Iqbal Parwez, Registrar Mr. Mohd Ishaq and Dean of Students Prof. G.M.Malik. Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed wani delivered the welcome address while Dr. Asif Malik Assistant Professor, Department of Urdu presented vote of thanks. Proceedings of the Mushaira were conducted by Dr. Liyaqat Nayyer, Assistant Professor Department of Urdu. Those who were present on the occasion Included heads of various departments, Joint Registrar Mr. Suneet Gupta, Faculty members , scholars and students.
