Rajouri March 25:–The Court of Adjudicating Officer, Rajouri who is also Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), has fined 23 erring food business operators for violating the norms of the Food Safety & Standard (FS&S) Act. .
Th.Sher Singh, ADC has imposed fine worth Rs 1, 59000 lakh on these food business operators operating at different locations across the district.
The samples were lifted by the teams of the Food Safety department during last 3-4 months & were sent to the laboratories for testing under FS&SA.
Even the teams found substandard services and consumables being provided to the people in the various outlets.
The erring traders were booked and summoned before the Adjudicating officer who imposed the fine under various sections of the Food Safety & Standard Act.
Today about 40 erring booked traders were summoned before the Court of Adjudicating Officer out of which only 23 could reach and were fined for various sections of FS&SA.
The fine was deposited on the spot by the food business operators who were also warned to desist from such practices and follow the parameters under schedule 4 of the Act.
It has been made clear that such a sample testing of various consumables shall continue so that hygienic and pure edible and products of the best quality remain available in the market for the people in the district.
Just two days before Rajesh Kumar Shavan, DDC instructed the officials of the Food Safety department to ensure cleanliness and sanitation in all the restaurants besides checking the markets on a routine basis.
