Rajouri March 24:-The authorities here at Rajouri have decided to implement strictly the Covid-19 guidelines, SOPs.After 10 positive cases (one recovered today) reported in the district, Deputy Commissioner today held detailed discussion with the senior officers of the concerned departments and directed the health department to keep surveillance on the travelers and their contacts.
The disquiet on this account has greatly increased since the new strains could be highly transmissible and dangerous, and could re-infect even people with anti-bodies and those who are already inoculated.
Under this new situation, the district administration needs to devise better strategies to tackle the situation before it goes out of control like in the first phase of Covid-19.
“It has been decided to educate the people about the fresh threat of Coronavirus through announcements and holding awareness meetings in the schools, colleges at public places, etc till March 28” said Th. Sher Singh, Additional DC.
After that warning will be issued, including fines, if the people continue to violate guidelines/SOPs including not wearing the masks.
“Administration has been requested to re-activate covid-19 sampling points at other places also besides at GMC & Associated Hospital (district hospital” said CMO.
For about a month till March 3, there was no active positive case in the district.
After that, the travelers were tested positive at Jammu/other places and were home quarantined in the district.
Under a vaccination drive, 4891 health care workers have been given the first dose & 2456 second dose have also been administered the second dose with an achievement 94 percent. Similarly, the progress regarding the vaccination of the frontline workers and persons above sixty years is 85 percent and 16.08 percent respectively besides as many as 95 persons in the district under the age group of 45-59 with Comorbidity have also been vaccinated.
“As many as 89780 doses were received in the district out of which 49140 were handed over to the Army, 200 sent to Poonch district and remaining 40440 doses are available with the Health Department,” said a senior Health Officer.
