DC Poonch holds interactive session with media personsAppeals media fraternity to play their part in containment of second wave COVID 19 pendemic

Poonch March 24 :–DeputyCommissioner Poonch Mr. Inder Jeet (KAS) today convened an introductory cum interactive session with the media persons in which prominent media persons from across the district participated. The session was conducted with the media fraternity to seek feedback and suggestions on various development related issues.

At the outset, additional deputy commissioner Dr.Bashrat Hussain gave a brief appraisal about the functioning of media outlets in the district including print and electronic media.
Speaking on the occasion DC observed that media has a very positive and constructive role in delivering good governance by projecting and highlighting various public issues appropriately. He said that journalism is a very sensitive and noble profession provided the person associated in this field uphold its sanctity and maintain its objectivity.
He added that after all We are working for the common cause and interest of the society that is making development in a peaceful environment.
DC said that social media become reality today and it is being used quite extensively for various noble causes .It creates awerness and help the people to discover various initiatives that help them to enhance their own lives.

During the meeting representatives of the press forum briefed the DC about the problems they are facing while discharging their professional duties at ground level. They also put forth their demands which includes establishment of press club at district headquarter and certain financial benefits permissible allowances if any. Moreover, they also demanded the upgradation of basic infrastructure in Information department for their convenience.
DC gave a patient hearing of all their demands and assured that their genuine demands shall be redressed on priority. He directed the Department of information and public relations to mantain a close liason with the journalists besides to act as a bridge between the administration and the people at large.
He appeals media persons to play their constructive role in containment of second wave of COVID 19 pendemic by disseminating maximum information to public for strict adherence of SOPs.

At last DC Complimented the media persons for expressing their positive gesture, He added that maintaining the freedom of press is essentially important and urged upon them to strive for improving the standard of journalism by reporting objectively.
