KOTRANKA : Social Activist Guftar Ahmed Chowdhary demanded creation of two more administrative and revenue divisions for Pir Panjal and Chenab regions of Jammu and Kashmir that consists of most remotest and hilly areas of the state. He further added that “whatever is sanctioned for Jammu province is confined to the districts of Jammu or Samba while majority of the region is left ignored”

All major institutions like AIIMS, IIT, SKAUST, Regional Univeristy, Central University, Railways etc are located in Jammu proper while majority population of Pir Panjal and Chenab is deprived of all facilities.

Guftar further added that “Central Governments have earned billions by using water from Chenab and people of Pir Panjal dwelling along LOC are left on the mercy of God, and despite of it government is not paying any attention towards these regions which is quite unfortunate”.

Guftar Ahmed appealed all socio-political leaders, students, religious clerics, employees of both the region to launch a movement for creation of two separate administrative divisions for Pir Panjal and Chenab which would result in overall development of the ignored lot of the state.
