Remembering the Martyrs : Police holds cultural evening in memory of martyrs

Rajouri, November 01 :–As a part of series of events to remember the martyrs of Jammu and Kashmir police family, a cultural evening show was organised at district police lines Rajouri by police authorities.

Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh, Senior Superintendent of Police Chandan Kohli, Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sher Singh, Additional SP Rajouri Liyaqit Ali, Additional SP Nowshera Girdhari Lal Sharma, ARTO Rajouri Inzar Rana, Dr. Alamdar from J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages as well as all the SDPOs of police, family members of martyrs, media persons and civil society members were present in the event.

Local singers, especially the folk singers presented their talent in the show wherein martyrs were remembered.

Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh said that martyrs of J&K Police are a feel of proud for all as they sacrificed their lives for mother nation and motherland.

He also assured family members of all the police martyrs that civil administration is always ready to extend any kind of possible help to them.

Meanwhile, the Police Martyrs Memorial Cricket Tournament going on in police lines Rajouri also concluded and SSP Rajouri alongwith other senior officers distributed cash prize and medals among the winner and runner up teams.

A total of eleven teams from the district took part in the tournament with final match was played between FCC and Shining Star with FCC registered win in the final.

Police distributed cricket kits among all the eleven participating teams.
Addressing the event, SSP Rajouri Chandan Kohli said that police is putting in all possible efforts to inculcate sports culture among the youth of Rajouri.

He added that sports culture is the best remedy to keep society safe from the menace of drugs and civil society shall also play its role in it by promoting sports among their children.

Meanwhile, a debate competition on the theme of ‘Police Martyrs’ was also held at Sunderbani in which senior police officers took part in the event.
