Relieving off the best brains of department from Directorate ‘unjustified’: JKReTTF

Srinagar, June 14 :-Terming the recent relieving order of teachers from Directorate and DIETs by Commissioner Secretary as arbitrary and unjustified, the Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar e Taleem Teachers Forum has expressed dismay over the disgraceful treatment meted with nation builders who contributed immensely during the ongoing pandemic situation for the academic advancement of the Union Territory.
In a statement, JKReTTF Chairman Farooq Ahmad Tantray said that most efficient and resourceful teachers were deputed to Directorate of Education Kashmir where these were instrumental in making the Innovation Cell functional for years. “The Innovation Cell” of the Directorate, DRCs, BRCs and CRCs utilized the services of teachers for boosting academics-related matters of the educational institutions and had nothing to do with administrative or clerical functions of the DSEK.”
The JKReTTF Chairman said that it was a herculean task for the department to start On-line classes during the pandemic and that too with 2G internet but these resourceful teachers made it happen and today as per official figures, there are 2.5 lac students enrolled through On-line Zoom classes.
Farooq Ahmed Tantray said that JKReTTF has always demanded the ouster of lethargic persons who sit idle at offices of the DIET, CEOs, ZEOs or higher authorities but there has been a pick and choose policy in the relieving order and many blued eyed and influential have been retained and the deserving shown an exit door.”This is so disheartening for scores of highly acclaimed teachers who contributed immensely day and night and under challenging circumstances for the educational uplift of the weaker and marginalized sections of the society.” The list shows many who had been at DSEK for eight or ten months but their stay is shown over ten years there.
Mr Tantray expressed concern over the activities of a lobby of ill-minded persons who want to defame and divide teachers for their petty interests. “The resource persons in the department are working as DRGs, ZRPs and CRPs under a policy matter to enhance learning outcomes and to improve teaching learning processes in schools but the ill-treatment meted with teachers will demotivate them in future assignments.”
The JKReTTF Chairman further said that the Innovation Cell was instrumental in coordinating and restructuring the functionality of the department and devised many innovative programmes and modules like Super 50, Winter Tutorials and Winter Camps, SCERT, Academic Planner, Academic Monitoring and Support of Schools, Grand Morning Assembly Concept, A Day with School Children, Nane Qadam Initiative, Reduction of School Bag Weight and Student Home Work etc. The authorities are empowered to transfer any employee but relieving resourceful teachers in a disrespectful manner will definitely tell upon the morale of the nation builders and they will feel let down,Tantray regretted.
