COVID19: District administration Rajouri distributes ration kits among needy under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao

Rajouri, May,23: In an effort to facilitate the poor and needy and to ensure that no one sleeps hungry on the EID festival, the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh who is also the chairman for District Level Task Force of BBBP on Saturday i.e one day before Eid has distributed ration kits among the slum population living under the Abdullah Bridge. The ration kits were distributed under the BBBP scheme.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration Rajouri is leaving no stone unturned to ensure relief to the people in this situation arising out due to CoronaVirus pandemic and a slew of measures to mitigate the sufferings of the needy persons have already been taken and such steps shall continue to be taken in future to support them in these tough hours of coronavirus crises.
He further said that various initiatives are being taken to support women in the District under Women Centric Schemes, to help especially downtrodden people and needy ones.
He further reiterated that District Level Centre for Women is facilitating the people and generating awareness among masses amid COVID -19 and (Sakhi) One Stop Centre for women is working to protect the rights of women and to keep a vigil on Domestic Violence being faced by womenfolk

Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri said that the district administration has already facilitated a number of needy persons by providing them ration and other essentials through different departments. He added that social organisations have also played an important role in this regard and District administration appreciates their concern.

District Statistical and Evaluation Officer, who is also the nodal officer for BBBP scheme while speaking on the occasion said that the District Level Centre for women has been doing a wonderful job in direction of the upliftment of the women and by safeguarding their rights. He also said that DLCW has already distributed about 900 sanitary napkins among the women, ration kits among the poor and needy. He added that the ration distribution done today was a part of this initiative of MSK which shall continue in the future amid COVID19.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sher Singh, District Statistical and Evaluation Officer, Bilal Rashid Mir, Tehsildar Rajouri,Sheraz Chow han, Women Welfare Officer, Anum Mirza ,District Level Coordinators and SHO Rajouri,Sameer Jeelanii were present on the occasion.
