Divisional Commissioner Jammu,Visits Rajouri,Inspected progress of work on GMC Rajouri and sports stadium Kheora

Rajouri,December,09:Sanjeev Verma, Divisional Commissioner Jammu along with District Development Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Nazir Sheikh today inspected Major developmental works in Rajouri.The works inspected includes GMC Rajouri and sports stadium Kheora.

During the visit of Divisional Commissioner took stock of the progress of work being executed there.The SE PWD informed that the work on this project is being executed by the PWD with an estimated cost of Rs.139 crores.He also briefed the Divisional Commissioner that the progress on the administrative block of the GMC is in full swing and would be completed by March 2020. He also informed that the work on the hostel blocks is in progress.So far as beautification Project is concerned,it was informed that DPR has been submitted for approval.

Divisional Commissioner also reviewed the status about the availability of drinking water and Power supply in the building and advised the PWD engineers to install solar panels.

The Div Comm impressed upon the executing agencies for timely completion of the vital project as this holds significance for facilitating people of Rajouri,Poonch and Reasi in terms of enhanced medical facilities.

Later in the evening Divisional Commissioner also inspected the pace of work on upcoming sports stadium Kheora. Inspecting the progress being executed by PWD, the DIv comm was informed that the work on indoor and outdoor stadium is in the final stage and would be completed by the end of the current month.It was informed that the construction cost of indoor and outdoor stadium, approved under languishing projects scheme,at an estimated cost of 5.64 crore.The concerned officer from PWD informed that the indoor stadium has the facility of badminton, tennis and skitting.

The Divisional Commissioner directed the concerned officers to speed up the work and strictly adhere to the specifications and deadlines in the construction cum completion of the projects.
He emphasised on ensuring the quality of work.He also directed the PWD to develop a parking site in the premises of the sports stadium at a suitable place.
