DDC Rajouri starts Institutional plantation drive  All govt offices and educational institutions to be covered

Rajouri,August,30:In order to promote the idea of keeping environment clean and green,the Deputy Commissioner,Rajouri, Mohammad Aijaz Asad today carried out plantation drive in the district by planting the saplings of Chinar and pecanut plants in PHE,PWD and DC office.

It is important to mention here that district administration Rajouri has decided to plant about 4.35 lakh plants in the district on state land under convergence mode including forest department,sericulture,horticulture and social forestry.

Speaking on the occasion,the DDC said that the drive was started with the purpose to enhance the green cover in the district and to create an eco-friendly environment.He said that planting trees must be a duty of every conscientious citizen and more trees should be planted so that future generations could be saved from the disastrous consequences of the environmental degradation.
He informed that about 2 lakh plants out of 4.35 lakh plants have already been planted in the district.

He urged upon the officers and frontline workers of various departments to work in close coordination for the successful conduct of the plantation drive. He also said that saplings of plants of different types shall be provided to various government institutions like schools and offices to increase green cover in the district.

Divisional forest officer social forestry Rajouri division,Rakesh Kumar,Divisional forest officer Rajouri,Sanjay Gupta, District Sericulture officer,Rakesh Kotwal and Range officer H.Q Manoj Kumar were present on the occasion.
