WORLD NATURE CONSERVATION DAY CELEBRATED IN THANNAMANDI

Thanamandi ,Rajouri, July 27 :-Celebration of “World nature conservation day” was organised by Rashtriya Rifles Battalion of Romeo Force at Dera Ki Gali. The World Nature Conservation Day recognizes that a healthy environment is the foundation for a stable and productive society and to ensure the well-being of present and future generations, we all must participate to protect, conserve, and sustainably manage our natural resources.

To celebrate this day, an afforestation drive was held at Dera Ki Gali area in order to contribute to the local, national, and global efforts in conserving the nature and the benefits they provide. The event saw overwhelming participation from civil administration, Ex- Servicemen and locals with great zeal and enthusiasm. The event included plantation of trees at DKG as well as distribution of saplings to locals. The main guests of the event were Mr Sanjay Gupta, DFO, Rajouri, mr Rakesh kumar, DFO, social forestry dept, Mr Tanveer Ahmed, SDM , Thanamandi, Abdul Aziz, sarpanch, Lower Panghai and Munshi Khan , sarpanch, Maniyal A. In total ,around 80 civilians participated in the event and 200 saplings were planted.

The event was an endeavour to contribute towards the nature conservation which has an impact on human survival, local and global economics, community life, human health and wellbeing. The event was highly appreciated by everyone present for the efforts of Army for the contribution towards the nature conservation.
