Lack of electric poles endanger lives in Karayan village Govt Rural Electrification scheme brought no change to us: Locals

Rajouri, 22 July:-The poor electricity carrying infrastructure in Karayan Nalla village of Karayan area in Rajouri is posing risk to the lives of people.

The residents of the village told GNS, that due to unknown reasons the PDD officials have failed to set up proper electric poles in the villages. As seen the picture, the power lines are carrying on damaged wooden sticks which can at any point of time create a hovoc.

A local Resident Qamar Shehzad expressing concern over it said since the inception of these transmission lines hardly any repairs have been done. At many places the electric wires have been made to pass through trees and tied with residential houses he said.

Even though the much touted Rural Electrification (RE) scheme was launched decades before, it has brought no change on the ground here.

The locals demand the dire need of removal of damaged infra and replaced with proper electric poles and other infrastructure. (GNS)
