Says initiative will document civic grievances and pursue them before concerned authorities; calls for greater youth participation

SRINAGAR, OCT, 06:- Senior independent political leader and contested candidate from 25-Eidgah Constituency, Mohammad Faheem Reshi, has announced the establishment of a dedicated People’s Grievance Cell for Eidgah Constituency and the wider Shah-re-Khaas area of Srinagar.
Reshi said the initiative is aimed at providing residents with a structured platform to register their civic, developmental, administrative and public-interest grievances and pursue them before the concerned authorities.
Addressing the issue of representation, Reshi said that people of Shah-re-Khaas had been raising their concerns under successive governments and administrations, but many continued to question who would consistently represent their genuine local issues.
“The Grievance Cell will ensure that the voice of Shah-re-Khaas is heard, documented and taken to the appropriate forum,” Reshi said.
He said the cell would take up issues concerning roads and macadamisation, drainage and sanitation, water and electricity, healthcare, education, youth concerns, unemployment, municipal services, public infrastructure, traders and workers, besides problems faced by economically weaker sections.
Reshi said the objective was not merely to highlight problems but to pursue them systematically with the concerned departments and authorities.
Focus on youth participation
Emphasising the role of young people, Reshi said the youth of Shah-re-Khaas could not remain spectators when decisions concerning their future were being taken.
“The youth of Shah-re-Khaas will represent Shah-re-Khaas. We will create a platform through which their voice reaches every appropriate level of government and administration,” he said.
He added that the initiative would encourage young people to participate in civic affairs, public-service activities and democratic processes through peaceful and lawful means.
Grievances to be pursued at appropriate forums
Reshi said genuine public grievances would be taken up with the concerned authorities at the appropriate level, from local departments and administration to the UT Government and, wherever required, the competent Central Government authorities.
He also urged residents to provide supporting material such as documents, photographs and videos wherever available so that grievances could be presented effectively.
Clarifying that the initiative was not linked to political affiliation, Reshi said, “A genuine grievance does not belong to a political party. It belongs to the person who is suffering because of that problem.”
He appealed to residents of Eidgah Constituency and Shah-re-Khaas to come forward with genuine issues and assured them that the grievances would be documented and raised before the appropriate authorities.
Particular attention, he said, would be given to issues affecting ordinary residents, youth, women, senior citizens, traders, workers and economically weaker families.
“Our message is clear: Shah-re-Khaas will continue to speak for Shah-re-Khaas. We will raise the genuine issues of Eidgah Constituency and the entire Shah-re-Khaas area through peaceful, democratic and lawful means,” Reshi said.
He described the Grievance Cell as a people-oriented platform rather than an initiative centred around any individual.
“This Grievance Cell is not about one person. It is a platform for the people. The voice belongs to the people of Shah-re-Khaas, and we will continue to carry that voice to every appropriate forum,” he said.
The Greater Shah-re-Khaas People’s Grievance Cell will cater to residents of Eidgah Constituency and the Shah-re-Khaas area of Srinagar.
