LG Sinha Calls for Crop Diversification, Climate-Suited Varieties and Millet-Based Nutrition

JAMMU, SEPT, 21:-Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha has called for a concerted effort towards crop diversification, promotion of climate-resilient agriculture and greater public awareness about the nutritional benefits of millets.
Stressing that the time has come to move from discussion to action, the Lieutenant Governor appealed to farmers to diversify their crops and urged agricultural scientists to focus on developing high-yielding varieties suited to changing climatic conditions.
“I urge all doctors and nutrition experts to create evidence-based awareness about the role of millets in a balanced diet,” the LG said.
He also appealed to citizens across Jammu and Kashmir to give greater priority to nutritious and balanced millet-based food, instead of relying excessively on processed food.
The Lieutenant Governor’s appeal highlighted the need for coordinated efforts involving farmers, scientists, doctors, nutrition experts and citizens to promote healthier diets while strengthening sustainable and climate-suited agricultural practices across Jammu and Kashmir.
