RAJOURI, SEPT 07:– Serious questions have once again been raised over the functioning of Associated Hospital, GMC Rajouri, after a newborn baby reportedly died following delivery while the mother was left in critical condition.
The incident has triggered fresh concern among patients and their attendants, with allegations of negligence and lapses in patient care being raised against the hospital staff.
Taking cognisance of the incident, the concerned nurse has been suspended, an FIR has been registered, and an inquiry team has been constituted to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of the newborn and the condition of the mother.
Medical Superintendent of Associated Hospital, GMC Rajouri, Dr. Shamim Ahmed, spoke about the incident, while the woman’s husband also shared his account, raising serious concerns regarding the treatment and care provided at the hospital.
The latest episode has once again brought GMC Rajouri under intense scrutiny. Concerns over alleged negligence, administrative lapses and the functioning of medical and paramedical staff have increasingly become a matter of public concern.
The question now is whether the inquiry will establish accountability or whether the matter will once again end with routine departmental action.
Residents and patient attendants are demanding a transparent, impartial and time-bound inquiry, along with strict action against anyone found responsible.
The Health Department and GMC authorities are now under pressure to ensure that the inquiry is conducted fairly and that accountability is fixed based on facts and evidence.
For a premier government medical institution serving the entire Pir Panjal region, repeated allegations of negligence are a serious matter that cannot be ignored.
