RAJOURI JULY 02:- Nisar Rahi, a distinguished poet, writer, educationist, and retired Principal from the Peer Panjal region of Jammu & Kashmir, is fondly remembered for his remarkable contributions to education, literature, and the promotion of the Pahari language and culture. His lifelong dedication earned him widespread respect and established him as one of the region’s most influential literary personalities.

Born and raised in Rajouri, Nisar Rahi developed a deep passion for literature and poetry from an early age. While serving in the Education Department, he inspired generations of students and educators before retiring as a Principal. Alongside his educational career, he devoted himself to enriching Pahari literature and preserving the cultural identity of the Pahari-speaking community.

Through his poetry, Rahi beautifully portrayed the landscapes of the Peer Panjal, the traditions of its people, human emotions, and the social realities of everyday life. His simple yet powerful style of writing resonated with readers across generations, carrying timeless messages of peace, harmony, humanity, and cultural pride.

A passionate advocate of regional literature, Nisar Rahi actively participated in literary conferences, seminars, cultural events, and writers’ forums across Jammu & Kashmir. His efforts played a significant role in bringing recognition to the Pahari language at both regional and national levels. He also mentored young writers, encouraging them to preserve and promote their linguistic and cultural heritage.

Over the years, numerous literary and cultural organizations honoured him for his exceptional services to literature and education. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he was admired for his humility, wisdom, and unwavering belief that education and literature are powerful instruments for social progress and cultural preservation.

The demise of Nisar Rahi in 2023 was widely mourned across Jammu & Kashmir. Writers, poets, teachers, students, and cultural organizations paid heartfelt tributes to the veteran literary figure, acknowledging his invaluable contributions to Pahari literature and education.

Though he is no longer with us, Nisar Rahi’s literary works, educational service, and vision continue to inspire future generations.
