Mendhar Administration Seals Apex Healthcare Clinic During Inspection; Inquiry Initiated Into Alleged Regulatory Violations

MENDHAR, JUNE 18:-In a significant regulatory enforcement action aimed at ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and safeguarding public interest, the Health Department, in coordination with the local administration and police on thursday conducted an inspection of Apex Healthcare Clinic, located opposite Dak Bungalow in Mendhar town of District Poonch.

The inspection was jointly carried out by Block Medical Officer (BMO) Mendhar Dr. Gazala, SHO Mendhar Habib Pathan, Naib Tehsildar Mendhar, and a police team as part of an official exercise to verify compliance with prescribed healthcare regulations, statutory requirements, and operational norms. The joint inspection team conducted a detailed examination of the facility and reviewed the available records, staffing arrangements, and operational procedures during the course of the inspection.

According to officials present during the inspection, certain alleged irregularities were observed at the facility. Preliminary findings indicated that a qualified Eye Specialist was not available at Apex Healthcare Clinic at the time of inspection. Officials stated that a practitioner holding a Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS) qualification was found present at the premises. In view of the observations made during the inspection, the authorities initiated action under the relevant provisions and ordered the sealing of the facility pending further verification and inquiry.

Speaking to media persons, BMO Mendhar Dr. Gazala stated that the action was taken in accordance with applicable rules and procedures. She informed that a detailed inquiry has been initiated to examine all relevant aspects concerning the operation of the facility and its compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

Officials emphasized that the action forms part of the administration’s ongoing commitment to ensuring that healthcare institutions operate strictly within the framework of the law and provide medical services in accordance with prescribed standards, professional ethics, and regulatory guidelines.

The development has drawn considerable public attention, with several local residents welcoming the enforcement action and calling for a comprehensive and impartial investigation into the functioning of Apex Healthcare Clinic. Residents urged the concerned authorities to thoroughly examine the clinic’s records, permissions, registrations, and operational practices to ascertain compliance with applicable healthcare laws and guidelines.
