JAMMU, JUNE 03:- Members of the Gujjar Bakerwal Students Alliance (GBSA) organized a candle march at Jammu University in support of tribal activist and leader Talib Hussain Choudhary, demanding his immediate release.
The participants gathered on the university campus carrying candles and raising slogans in support of Talib Hussain. The protesters expressed concern over his detention and urged the authorities to ensure justice and uphold democratic rights.
GBSA members stated that Talib Hussain has long been associated with issues concerning tribal communities and has consistently raised his voice for the rights and welfare of Gujjar and Bakerwal people. They alleged that he was detained by police at Bandi Sidra along with Bhim Army activists and called for his immediate release.
Addressing the gathering, student representatives said that peaceful protests and democratic expression should be respected and appealed to the administration to review the matter. The candle march concluded with participants reiterating their demand for the release of Talib Hussain and expressing solidarity with him.
The demonstration witnessed the participation of several students and youth activists who described the march as a peaceful show of support and unity.
