RAJOURI, JUNE 01:– Government Boys Model Higher Secondary School (GBMHSS) Rajouri on Monday celebrated the remarkable achievement of its student, Mohd Yasser, who recently emerged as the Asian Junior Boxing Champion 2026, bringing glory to the nation, Jammu & Kashmir, and Rajouri district.
To honour the young sporting icon, the school organized a grand felicitation ceremony attended by students, teaching staff, parents, and prominent members of the local community. The event turned into a memorable celebration as Yasser received a warm welcome amid applause and admiration from the school fraternity.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Mohd Muslim Wani lauded Yasser’s dedication, discipline, and perseverance, describing his achievement as a proud moment for the entire district. As a token of appreciation, the Principal announced free education for Mohd Yasser and presented him with a cash award of ₹50,000 on behalf of the school.
In recognition of his outstanding accomplishment, the Principal further announced that Mohd Yasser’s photograph would be permanently displayed on the school’s Wall of Fame, serving as a source of inspiration for future generations of students.
The school also felicitated Mohd Farid, Yasser’s elder brother and a national-level boxer, acknowledging his contribution to the sport and his role in motivating and supporting the young champion throughout his journey.
The programme concluded with floral tributes, congratulatory messages, and best wishes from students and staff. Participants hailed Yasser’s success as a shining example of what determination and hard work can achieve.
