JAMMU, MAY 19:- PDP leader from Mendhar, Nadeem Rafiq Khan, has criticized the Omar Abdullah-led government over alleged targeting and neglect of the Muslim Gujjar community in the Jammu region, particularly following an anti-encroachment drive in Sidra, Jammu.

In a Facebook post, Khan alleged that despite having the support of nearly 50 MLAs, the government has remained silent while actions affecting members of the Gujjar community are taking place. Referring to the recent demolition drive in Sidra, he questioned who would take responsibility for protecting the “rights, dignity, and security” of the Gujjar community.

Khan stated that people expect “accountability, strong governance, and immediate action — not silence” from the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference-led administration. He further claimed that “a single BJP MLA appears more powerful than 50 National Conference MLAs,” accusing the ruling leadership of remaining silent for the sake of power.

The PDP leader’s remarks have sparked political discussion in the Pir Panjal region, where issues concerning tribal and Gujjar communities often remain politically sensitive.
