RAJOURI, APRIL 13:-Marking a progressive step towards strengthening the apiculture sector, Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma, along with General Officer Commanding of the Ace of Spades Division, Maj Gen Kaushik Mukherji, unveiled newly redesigned packaging for departmental honey during the Rajouri Day celebrations.
The launch event took place at ALG Ground in the presence of the Chief Agriculture Officer and other senior officials. The initiative aims to elevate the market value and visual appeal of locally produced honey while maintaining high standards of quality and hygiene.
The revamped packaging introduces sleek glass bottles in 250 ml, 500 ml, and 1-litre sizes, featuring modern labeling and improved sealing to preserve freshness for longer durations. The refined design not only enhances the product’s presentation but also aligns it with contemporary consumer expectations.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the growing importance of beekeeping in supporting rural incomes and diversifying agricultural activities. He noted that such value-added initiatives would significantly improve market access for local beekeepers and strengthen the district’s economy.
This move reflects the ongoing efforts of the Jammu & Kashmir administration to promote apiculture through better branding, modern processing, and farmer support. It also complements the broader goals of national-level beekeeping programs focused on capacity building and sustainable growth in the sector.
The upgraded packaging is expected to build greater consumer trust and open new avenues for the premium-quality honey produced in Rajouri.
