3-day training for Census 2027 begins at Rajouri

RAJOURI, MARCH 27:- A three-day training programme for District Census Officers, Sub-Divisional Census Officers and Charge Census Officers, under phase I of Census-2027 preparations, commenced today in Rajouri, covering the House Listing and Housing Census (HLO).

The training programme is being conducted in collaboration with the Directorate of Census Operations (DCO), Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.

The inaugural session was addressed by Deputy Commissioner, Abhishek Sharma, who is also the Principal Census Officer for the district.

Highlighting the importance of the upcoming census exercise, he emphasized the need for accuracy, effective coordination and technological proficiency to ensure smooth and successful implementation.

Resource persons from the Directorate of Census Operations J&K, including Assistant Director Sunil Kumar, Statistical Investigators Rahul Kumar and Dibyendu Pratap Singh, are imparting comprehensive training to the officers. The sessions include both theoretical inputs and hands-on training, with special focus on the operation of CMMS and HLBC portals.

The training programme aims to familiarize the officers with digital tools and operational procedures necessary for the effective conduct of the House Listing and Housing Census phase. Participants are being equipped with the required skills for seamless data collection, verification and management.
