SRINAGAR MARCH 10:-Social-Political Activist and Contested Candidate from the 25 Eidgah Constituency, Faheem Reshi, who also serves as Chairman of Greater Shah-re-Khaas, has urged the administration to take immediate steps to resolve the long-pending drainage problem in the Baripora area along Nalmar Road.

In a press statement issued on Tuesday, Reshi highlighted that the residents of Baripora, Nalmar Road have been facing a severe drainage issue for several years. Despite repeated complaints from the local population, the problem continues to remain unresolved, causing significant inconvenience and raising serious sanitation concerns for the people of the locality.

Reshi appealed to the Commissioner of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation and the concerned authorities to urgently look into the matter and initiate necessary measures to dismantle the decades-old blocked drainage system in the area. He also called upon the administration to sanction and construct a new drainage network for the entire Baripora–Nalmar Road stretch to permanently address the issue.

He emphasized that the provision of basic civic amenities is the fundamental right of every citizen and urged the authorities to act promptly in the interest of public welfare and public health.

Reshi expressed hope that the administration would take swift action to resolve the issue and provide relief to the residents who have been suffering due to the inadequate drainage infrastructure for a long time.
