District-Level BBBP Awareness Programme Organised at Rajouri to Promote Girl Child Welfare

RAJOURI, MARCH 09:-District Administration Rajouri, in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department and Rural Development Department (RDD), today organised a District Level Awareness Programme under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative at Dak Bungalow Rajouri.

The programme was organised on the directions of Abhishek Sharma, with a series of awareness activities also conducted at the block level across the district. The district level programme marked the culmination of these awareness campaigns aimed at promoting the welfare and empowerment of the girl child.

Additional District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Malikzada Sheraz ul Haq, presided over the event.

While addressing the gathering, the ADDC highlighted the importance of creating widespread awareness about social issues affecting women and girls. He stressed the need to eliminate practices such as early marriage and female foeticide and underscored the importance of ensuring education and equal opportunities for girls in society.

He also emphasised the need to create greater awareness regarding women’s rights and the opportunities available for women in different fields, encouraging them to actively participate in social, educational and economic activities.
He called upon all stakeholders to work collectively to promote gender equality and safeguard the rights of the girl child.

*As part of the programme, a thought-provoking play was presented by the Rangmanch group, which effectively highlighted various social evils and discriminatory practices faced by women in society, conveying a strong message on the need for societal change.*

Among others present on the occasion were ACD Rajouri, Auqil Naveed; DSWO, Abdul Raheem; BDO Rajouri, Javed Ahmed; BDO Headquarters, Hina Koser, besides other district and sectoral officers.
