LUCKNOW FEBRUARY 28:-A supporter of senior politician Mohammad Azam Khan has issued a strong statement praising his resilience and courage in the face of numerous legal challenges, describing his political journey as one that will be “recorded in golden letters” in India’s history.
In the statement, the supporter highlighted that Azam Khan, a prominent leader from Uttar Pradesh, was elected ten times as a Member of the Legislative Assembly from the same constituency. He also served as a Member of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, and was imprisoned during the Emergency period, being described by admirers as a “defender of democracy.”
The supporter alleged that more than 100 cases were filed against Azam Khan due to political vendetta and claimed that over 350 cases in total were registered against members of his family, including his wife, son, sister, and even his deceased mother. According to the statement, despite these legal battles, Azam Khan has never been seen publicly expressing distress or breaking down.
The remarks also drew comparisons with former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, stating that he was seen emotional while facing legal proceedings.
The supporter further claimed that even the current Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh had appeared emotional in Parliament over the filing of a case.
Concluding the statement, the supporter expressed pride in backing Azam Khan, calling him a leader who has faced allegations and adversity “eye to eye” without public display of despair.
There has been no official response from the leaders mentioned in the statement at the time of filing this report.
