POONCH FEBRUARY 26:-The Office of the District Magistrate Poonch has issued an order regarding the opening of the Mughal Road (NH-701A) for vehicular traffic.
In view of the clearance of snow accumulation on the Bufliaz to Peer Ki Gali stretch (Km 43.600) and based on the recommendation of the Officer Commanding, 79 RCC (GREF), it has been ordered that the movement of Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) shall be allowed on the Mughal Road from Bufliaz to Peer Ki Gali with effect from 27 February 2026.
The vehicular movement will be permitted strictly between 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM only, subject to fair weather conditions and absence of any unforeseen circumstances.
The Officer Commanding, 79 RCC (GREF), has been directed to ensure deployment of adequate manpower and machinery at vulnerable and avalanche-prone areas to address any eventualities such as landslides, avalanches, or shooting stones. Continuous monitoring of sensitive stretches will be maintained to ensure safe and smooth traffic movement.
The Senior Superintendent of Police, Poonch, and the Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic Rural Jammu, have been instructed to deploy sufficient personnel at Behramgalla, Bufliaz, and Poshana check posts to ensure strict compliance with the notified timings and smooth regulation of traffic.
Commuters are advised to plan their travel strictly in accordance with the traffic advisories issued by the Traffic Police and adhere to the specified timings.
