Omar Abdullah Assures Fair Action Against Encroachments

JAMMU FEBRUARY 20:-Speaking in the Assembly, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah made it clear that the government’s drive against encroachments will prioritize accountability and fairness.
“I want to clearly assure this House that any action against encroachments will begin with those who misuse power, political influence, and unfair means to protect illegal occupation. It will not start with the poor. If action is required, it will first target the wealthy and influential, ensuring fairness and justice in the process,” he stated.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the administration is committed to safeguarding the interests of economically weaker sections while taking strict action against influential individuals who exploit their position to retain illegal possessions.
He urged members not to misinterpret the government’s intentions, reiterating that the objective is to uphold the rule of law without victimizing vulnerable sections of society.
