DC Poonch distributes ICE Boxes to Fishermen under JKCIP Scheme

POONCH, FEBRUARY 16:- Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma distributed ICE Boxes to local fishermen as part of the Jammu and Kashmir Coastal Infrastructure Project (JKCIP).The initiative aims to improve the storage and preservation of fish caught by the local community, thereby boosting their income and ensuring better market access.

Assistant Director (AD) Fisheries, Bharat Bushan along with his staff members was present on the occasion.

During the event, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with the fishermen, encouraging them to adopt sustainable fishing practices and make the most of the support provided under the JKCIP. He emphasized the government commitment to improving the livelihood of fishermen in the region and assured that more such initiatives would be rolled out to help the community thrive.
