JAMMU FEBRUARY 16:-In a significant move aimed at boosting tourism and restoring normalcy, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has ordered the reopening of several tourist destinations across the Kashmir and Jammu divisions following a thorough security review and detailed discussions with concerned authorities.
According to official information, 11 tourist spots in the Kashmir Division have been reopened with immediate effect. These include Yousmarg, Doodhpathri in Budgam, Dandipora Park in Kokernag, Peer Ki Gali, Dubjan and Padpawan in Shopian, Astanpora and Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden in Srinagar, Thajwas Glacier, Hung Park in Ganderbal, and Wullar/Watlab in Baramulla.

In the Jammu Division, three tourist destinations — Devi Pindi in Reasi, Mahu Mangat in Ramban, and Mughal Maidan in Kishtwar — have also been ordered to reopen immediately.

However, four tourist sites will be reopened once snow clearance operations are completed. These include Gurez Valley, Athwatoo, Bangus Valley in the Kashmir Division, and Ramkund in Ramban district of Jammu Division.
The tourist spots had been temporarily closed as precautionary measures. With the improved security assessment and favourable conditions, the administration has now allowed reopening to facilitate tourism activities and ensure convenience for visitors.

The decision is expected to provide a major boost to the tourism sector and local businesses, particularly as the region prepares for the upcoming tourist season. Authorities have assured that all necessary security and safety arrangements will remain in place to ensure a smooth and secure experience for tourists.
