MENDHAR FEBRUARY 15:-In a significant community outreach initiative, the Border Security Force (BSF) Uchhad organised the “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan” under its Civic Action Programme at Village Uchhad in Block Mankote, aiming to spread awareness against drug abuse and promote youth empowerment in the border belt.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from local residents, youth, village elders, public representatives, and Sarpanches from adjoining areas, reflecting strong community support for the anti-drug campaign.
Addressing the gathering, BSF officials highlighted the alarming rise in substance abuse and its adverse impact on individuals, families, and society. They urged young people to adopt a healthy and disciplined lifestyle and to engage in constructive pursuits such as sports, education, and skill development. The officers emphasized that a motivated and drug-free youth population forms the backbone of a progressive and secure nation.
To encourage positive engagement and strengthen bonds with the community, a friendly cricket match was organised between the “Young Star” team of Village Uchhad and the BSF team. The match generated great enthusiasm among spectators and symbolized unity, teamwork, and mutual trust between the security forces and local youth. The sporting event served as a platform to reinforce the message of collective responsibility in combating drug abuse.
Villagers and community leaders lauded BSF Uchhad for taking proactive steps to address pressing social issues through community-driven initiatives. The programme concluded with participants taking a collective pledge to stay away from drugs and to actively support the mission of a drug-free India.
On the occasion, a BSF official informed that the Force will soon conduct special training and guidance sessions for local youth to prepare them for recruitment in the armed forces and other security services. The initiative aims to channel the energy of young individuals into meaningful career opportunities, thereby fostering both personal growth and national service.
Through such civic action programmes, the Border Security Force continues to reaffirm that its role extends beyond guarding the nation’s borders, focusing equally on social awareness, youth empowerment, and building strong community partnerships in border areas.
