No Proposal to Amend Land Use Pattern: Javed Rana

JAMMU FEBRUARY 07:-The Government on Friday clarified that there is no proposal under consideration to relax the existing norms governing Change of Land Use (CLU).

This was stated by Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, while responding to a query raised by MLA Surjit Singh Salathia in the Legislative Assembly.

The Minister was replying on behalf of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

The Minister informed the House that the Revenue Department is not contemplating any relaxation in the prevailing CLU regulations at present.

He further clarified that the Government has no proposal to exempt rural areas from the existing provisions related to change of land use.

Elaborating further, the Government made it clear that there is also no plan to reduce the prescribed fees or to simplify the procedural formalities associated with CLU permissions.

During the discussion, MLAs Vikram Randhawa, Rajiv Jasrotia and R. S. Pathania raised supplementary questions seeking additional clarifications on the issue which were addressed by the Government.
