BJP Playing Dangerous Politics in Jammu and Kashmir: Dy CM Surinder Choudhary

JAMMU FEBRUARY 03:-The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Tuesday witnessed a brief ruckus after Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing it of indulging in divisive “Jammu versus Kashmir” politics.
Addressing the House, the Deputy Chief Minister asserted that the present government considers Jammu and Kashmir as one indivisible entity and will not tolerate attempts to create regional or communal fault lines for political gain. “BJP is playing dangerous politics in Jammu and Kashmir. BJP is the killer of Jammu,” Choudhary remarked, triggering uproar from the opposition benches.

He alleged that the BJP has consistently attempted to pit regions against each other, thereby weakening the social and political fabric of the Union Territory Choudhary maintained that such politics is detrimental to peace, harmony, and inclusive development.

The remarks led to protests by BJP legislators, resulting in noisy scenes and interruptions in the proceedings for a short while. The Speaker later intervened to restore order in the House.

Reiterating the government’s stand, the Deputy Chief Minister emphasized that equitable development of all regions remains the top priority of the administration and warned against any attempts to divide the people of Jammu and Kashmir on regional lines.
